We believe that everyone in the Body of Christ is a minister, but we also have a wonderful group of leaders who enjoy working together in unity as they exercise an oversight ministry.
Our Rector, Dr. Rod Ellis, was born and raised in South Africa and together with his wife Lynne, has been actively involved in ministry since 1977. He has studied and trained at the Universities of Natal (South Africa), and Nottingham (U.K.) and has a doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary (U.S.A.) He has lectured at Bible Colleges, and has a background in counselling. Rod and Lynne have three children, Jonathan (married to Becky), Davina (married to Dan) and Lisa. Having emigrated from South Africa in 1993, they are all now Canadian citizens.

Pastor Peter Umland was born in Germany, raised in England, emigrated to Canada in the late ‘70s and together with his wife Catherine, has been actively involved in ministry since 1995. They have 2 adopted children from China; Anna and Abigail. Peter has served at C.O.O.L. at different times as both Lay Minister and Honorary Assistant and in March 2009, became our Assistant Pastor. He is also a certified Prayer Counselor through Elijah House.

The church operates under the leadership of the pastors and two groups of elders: The Parish Council which is formed for the spiritual guidance of the congregation; and the Vestry which deals with the administration of the church's business. However, we are all ministers who serve the Body of Christ.
