WHAT?
If you're a youth downtown, life can look alot like the picture on the left. Sanctuary Youth Centre gives this city a friendlier face. It's a place where youth can escape from the haste and rage of the sidewalk and find safety, respect, acceptance and peace. We're here to listen, encourage and offer heartfelt, practical advice - not to pass judgement. Maybe you want to clean up a little - wash some clothes, take a shower, grab soup and a coffee or shoot a game of pool. Perhaps you're in need of counsel, or want to explore the Spirit that inspires our staff and volunteers. Maybe you need a shoulder to cry on, or the power of prayer to touch the hurt in your life. If you need assistance finding food, housing, health services, a job, or legal advice, we can help. We can introduce you to Agencies, Ministries and Services that will give you hope and choices, whatever your situation. In the community that makes up Sanctuary, you've found a friend. Drop in and say "Hi."

Every fourth Saturday in the month: Dinner 3 - 5 PM followed by a Concert 5 - 7 PM

WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Because Sanctuary is intended to be a place to make new friends, there's plenty to help you find your place in our community. There are always people to talk to, games to play and something going on. You'll have a chance to explore music, theatre, dance and the visual arts with professional instructors at different times in our regular program. Or you might like to develop computer skills. [You are always welcome to use us as an email address] As a faith-based organization, we offer plenty of opportunities for those who might be curious to discover just what the Bible has to say about life. Our regular Thursday night 'Blast The Heavens' concert is a joyful celebration of our faith. Feel free to join in or just enjoy the music! Prayer is the power behind everything we do. While we don't want to be in your face, we do want you to know that people will pray with you and for you, anytime you ask. Bringing things firmly down to earth, Sanctuary's staff are there to help you with education and employment support and advocacy, assistance in accesing educational opportunities, job training resources and job seeking. We're there to help you find alternatives to life on the street, if you want to find them.

RULES N'STUFF
Sanctuary is built on mutal respect. Our doors are open to youth 19 and under. You're welcome here regardless or who you are or what you look like. All we ask is that you respect us in return. Being disruptive or disrespectul will mean you have to leave. There's no smoking, no drinking and no drugs. Ever. OK? Oh, and please leave your dog safely tied outside!
WHO?
Sanctuary Youth Centre is a ministry of Cornerstone Youth Society, supported by the local Church and Business community. Day to day operations are run by Sanctuary staff working alongside a dedicated team of volunteers. We are a registered charitable organization and all funding is by donation.
